The Benjamin Suite
The Benjamin Suite personifies the classic American Dream realized. The 1,620 square-foot pied-à-terre was designed and curated by design giant Lauren Rottet of Rottet Studio, to visually reference the hotel namesake’s successful journey from an immigrant, small business owner to real estate developer and eventually hotelier—an undertaking which began during the 1930s.
Situated on the 22nd floor of the stunningly redesigned hotel in the thriving epicenter of New York’s bustling Midtown, the space references the luxe and flourishing elegance of the Art Deco era intermixed with urban modern touches and sophistication.
For its inhabitants, The Benjamin Suite offers many exclusive and grand features, including its signature private terrace, a true sanctuary in the sky with the privilege of al fresco entertaining by celebrity chef dining by Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian’s The National— a rare experience further punctuated by the spectacular southern view of the Manhattan skyline.
Designed with elegance and residential comfort in mind, hardwood floors and custom silk area rugs define the living area. Luminous velvet and satin seating in a palette of neutral greys, white, black are accented by touches of emerald green. A rare custom burl wood dining room table is expandable for elegant dinner parties or stylish boardroom-style meetings.
Off the dining room is a pantry kitchen equipped with a full-sized refrigerator, microwave, and sophisticated tableware to help to service private events or allow for an impromptu snack.
The Master bedroom is tailored and subtlety detailed with a hand-tanned leather upholstered King-sized bed, a custom mirrored wardrobe with bronze accents, and luxurious patterned berber wool carpeting. Lighting is designed to enhance or create any mood desired and custom bedding is designed with the ultimate comfort in mind. The bedroom also offers access to a western-facing balcony ideal for sunbathing or a midday nap.
The bath ensuite is a natural extension of the bedroom as the ultimate five-fixture bath. The marble pallet is sophisticated, in Calcutta extra marble and black granite, which beckon the elegance of the 1930s, yet incorporate modern advantages of a large oval soaking tub and expansive rain shower.
