January Festivals in NYC

Irondale Ensemble Project, 85 S. Oxford St. in Brooklyn
Travel to Brooklyn this January for FLICfest (Feature-Length Independent Choreography), a festival of feature-length dance performances with complete works by renowned choreographers. Each evening of the festival includes two dance theater works with an additional cabaret performance. Performers include the Chocolate Dancers, a New York City dance company who design dance performances around chocolate tastings and the Tattooed Ballerinas, a modern dance troupe from choreography Hattie Mae Williams. New York Boat Show
Javits Center, 655 West 34th Street in Manhattan
For all things nautical, the New York Boat Show returns this January to the Javits Center in Hell’s Kitchen. View everything from yachts to cruises to pontoon boats and the latest in fishing equipment. This year’s boat show runs from January 25-27, 12-9PM; January 28, 10AM-9PM; and January 29, 10AM-5PM, with $16 admission for adults (kids 15 and under free). Winter Antiques Show
Park Avenue Armory, 643 Park Avenue in Manhattan
From January 20-29, you can get your shopping fix at the 63rd Annual Winter Antiques Show held at the historic Park Avenue Armory in Manhattan. The show provides new and established collectors, curators and dealers opportunities to purchase exceptional and one-of-a-kind pieces from 73 different exhibitors. Winter Jazz Festival
Over 9,000 people from across the world journey to New York right after the new year for the annual Winter Jazzfest. Occurring from January 5-10, the festival celebrates the finest talents in contemporary jazz with over 50 different acts taking the stage, ranging from veteran musicians to newcomers.
